INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Utah Jazz struggled on defense against the Indiana Pacers and it ended up costing them the game.

Utah’s defense allowed the Pacers to win three of the four quarters in the game on Wednesday, November 27 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Pacers put more points on the scoreboard in the first, second, and fourth quarters. The Jazz outscored the Pacers in the third quarter of the game. Utah won the quarter by a single point, 37-36. Indiana was +18 in the other three quarters combined.

Utah fell 121-102.

Indiana outshot Utah 52.1 percent to 43.4 percent on field goals.

The Pacers were also better than the Jazz on shots from behind the arc 36.4 percent to 31.3 percent.

Indiana forced four more turnovers by the Jazz than they committed.

The Jazz were 1,541 miles away from Swat Lake City and it showed. Utah had two blocks in the game and neither of them came from Rudy Gobert.

Gobert was back in the Jazz’s starting lineup after missing the team’s previous two games (1-1) due to a left ankle sprain.

Every Jazz player had a negative +/- rating except for Tony Bradley who played five minutes at the end of the game and Georges Niang who played 16 minutes including those at the end of the fourth quarter.

Three Indiana starters posted 22 points or more. Five Pacer players scored in double figures in the win.

The loss gave Utah a back-to-back loss for the third time this season.

They sit at 11-7 on the season.

The Jazz’s next stop on their road trip is in Memphis. Utah plays against the Grizzlies on Friday, November 29 at 6 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.

Memphis previously defeated the Jazz 107-106 on November 15 in Mike Conley’s first game back in Tennessee.
