Jazz Blowout Grizzlies To Keep Memphis Winless

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz blew out the Memphis Grizzlies 133-109 to move to 2-3 on the season.

The Jazz saw five players score in double-digits, led by guard Collin Sexton who had 23 points.

The Grizzlies were led by Desmond Bane who had 21, but remained winless on the season.

First Quarter

John Collins and Lauri Markkanen got the Jazz off to a quick start scoring nine of the team’s first 12 points.

Memphis struggled to shoot the ball in the first quarter connecting on just 6-23 field goal attempts to open the game.

The Jazz shot 75 percent from the floor and 80 percent from three.

After one, the Jazz led Memphis 42-19.

Second Quarter

The Grizzlies opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run prompting a quick timeout from coach Will Hardy.

The Jazz quickly responded, building their lead to as large as 35 in the first half.

Three Jazz players scored in double-digits in the first half, led by Jordan Clarkson who scored 18 on 4-4 from downtown.

The Jazz led the Grizzlies 79-46 at the half.

Third Quarter

The Jazz had a difficult third quarter offensively shooting just 37 percent from the floor and 30 percent from three.

Memphis meanwhile had their best quarter outscoring the Jazz 33-25.

Five Jazz players were in double-figures, led by Clarkson with 20 points.

After three the Jazz led the Grizzlies 104-79.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz turned to their deep bench midway through the fourth quarter and the Jazz leading by 24.

Collin Sexton led the Jazz with 23 points.

The Jazz moved to 2-3 with a 133-109 win over the Grizzlies.
