Isaiah Collier Moves Into Second On Jazz Rookie Assists Record

SALT LAKE CITY – Isaiah Collier has had a memorable rookie season, entering the Utah Jazz starting lineup near midseason and taking the challenge head on. With nine games left in the regular season, Collier’s first assist against Memphis moved him into sole possession of second on the franchise’s all-time rookie assists record, only 18 behind Hall of Fame point guard John Stockton.

The Jazz (16-56) hosted the Memphis Grizzlies (43-28) at Delta Center on Tuesday, March 25. Utah has the second-worst record in the league and the fewest wins in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies enter the night tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the fourth-best mark in the West.

Collier burst out of the gates against Memphis, knocking down a pair of threes and showing off his elite quickness for a fast-break lay-up. His scoring is a bonus because Collier’s court vision has Jazz fans dreaming of what could be.

The USC Trojan product passed Trey Burke for second when he found Collin Sexton for a driving lay-in.

Following their point guard’s lead, the Jazz built a 23-14 lead through six and a half minutes. Collier and Sexton have combined for 17 points, four assists, and two boards. Walker Kessler already has five rebounds to go with an early three.
