SALT LAKE CITY – It was a busy weekend for Utah Jazz minority owner Dwyane Wade, who stopped by Rockefeller Center for a cameo on Saturday Night Live before attending the Met Gala on Monday.
Wade appeared alongside guest host Quinta Brunson and Sabrina Carpenter in a musical number about being short (at 6-foot-4, Wade is somewhat short by NBA standards), then joined wife Gabrielle Union at the Met Gala.

“Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on!” James wrote, “Hate to miss an historical event! My beautiful powerful Queen will be there holding the castle down as she always has done.”
This year’s Met Gala theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, highlighting three centuries of Black fashion.
Big Week For Wade
In addition to his appearances in New York, Wade was also announced as an analyst for Amazon Prime’s NBA coverage beginning in the 2025-26 season.
“I’m excited to join the NBA on Prime team as an analyst at this pivotal moment for Prime Video,” Wade said. “After 16 years on the court and time as a broadcaster, I can’t wait to continue to share my unique perspective and bring the energy of the game to fans streaming at home.”
