SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell showed his All-Star talent with a special performance in the second half to lead Utah to a win over the Orlando Magic.

The Magic hosted the Jazz at Amway Center on Saturday, February 27.

Mitchell’s Magic

Mitchell scored 25 of his 31 points over the final 24 minutes of game time to lead the Jazz to a 124-109 victory.

It was Mitchell’s ninth 30-point game of the season and his first time scoring 30 or more points in consecutive games in 2020-21.

The Jazz guard finished the game shooting 10-19 overall and 5-8 on three-pointers. Mitchell recorded four rebounds and six assists.

He posted a plus-12 rating during 35 minutes on the floor.

Second Half Scoring

After a back-and-forth first half, the Jazz owned a four-point advantage at halftime.

Over the final two quarters, Utah looked like the team it has for the majority of the season.

The Jazz outscored the Magic by 11 points over the third and fourth quarters to run away with the win.

Seven Jazzmen In Double Figures

Mitchell led the Jazz in scoring and was one of seven Jazz players to score at least 10 points in the contest.

Four of Utah’s starters scored in double figures.

Rudy Gobert was impactful on both ends of the court and finished with a double-double. He scored 12 points on 6-6 field goals. Gobert added 16 boards, three assists, one steal, and two blocks.

Joe Ingles, who started in place of Mike Conley, and Bojan Bogdanovic combined for 27 points.

Jordan Clarkson led Utah’s bench with 18 points.

Derrick Favors and Georges Niang added 10 points and 13 points, respectively.

Utah shot 52.9 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from distance.

Orlando Magic

Orlando ended the game shooting 45.8 percent overall and 41.2 percent from three.

The Magic were led by NBA All-Star Nikola Vučević’s game-high 34 points.

Up Next

With the win, the Jazz improved their NBA-best record to 27-7 on the season.

Utah’s next game is against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, March 1 at 6 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on NBA TV, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
