SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell came out of halftime on a mission as he scored 11 points in the less than six minutes of play.

Sacramento faced the Utah Jazz at Vivint Arena on Saturday, March 12.

With De’Aaron Fox’s scoring outburst carrying over from the first half, Mitchell went mano a mano with Fox, scoring 11 points in the opening six minutes of the third quarter.

Playing without all-star teammates Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert, and backup point guard Trent Forrest also out, it was Mitchell’s turn to take on the scoring load in the third quarter following a hot first half from both Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic.

With the Jazz leading 87-80 following a Mitchell contested three, Donovan found himself with the ball again at the top of the key being defended by recently acquired Dante DiVincenzo. Mitchell crossed DiVincenzo over before euro-stepping back to the left and hitting and eight foot floater of a pair of Kings defenders.

In 27 minutes of action, Mitchell has 23 points on 10-16 shooting. He has also contribute3d five rebounds and three assists.

Mitchell has been the undisputed offensive leader for the Jazz this season as his efficiency has hit another level. He is currently averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field and 36 percent from deep.

The Jazz and Kings can be heard on The Zone Sports Network. The game will be televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
