Report: Carlos Boozer Expected To Join Jazz As Scout

SALT LAKE CITY—According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Carlos Boozer is expected to be hired by the Utah Jazz as a team scout.
The NBA insider reported the move after the NBA lottery in Chicago.
“Former two-time Jazz All-Star forward Carlos Boozer is with the team here at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago and is expected to join the organization as a scout, league sources told HoopsHype.” Scotto wrote.

Boozer Reportedly Joining Jazz As Scout
The report comes at an interesting time for both the Jazz and the Boozer family.
After failing to land the top pick in the NBA Draft lottery on Monday, the Jazz are likely to see their rebuild beyond next season.
The Boozers, meanwhile, are preparing for twins Cameron and Cayden to attend Duke next season. Both are expected to be first-round draft picks in 2026.

Cameron, a forward, is the third-ranked prospect in the class of 2025 according to ESPN, while brother Cayden, a point guard, is ranked 16th.
The twins led Columbus High School (Florida) to the high school national championship, where they defeated Dynamic Prep (Texas) 67-49.
Cayden scored 27 points in the championship game while the higher-rated Cameron added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Boozer Has Been Familiar Face In Utah
Despite leaving the Jazz in 2010, Carlos Boozer has been a familiar face around the organization since returning from the NBA in 2015.
The former forward has appeared at several alumni events and even attended a Utah Mammoth game in November.

In an appearance on 97.5, the KSL Sports Zone, Boozer said he’d love to see his children wind up with the Jazz in the draft.
“I like how Danny Ainge came in and got a bunch of draft picks coming forward,” Boozer said of the Jazz. “Who knows, fingers crossed, maybe they draft my twins one day, I would love that.”
The Jazz own only one first-round draft pick in 2026, but have the right to swap their selection with the Minnesota Timberwolves or Cleveland Cavaliers if either team were to finish the season with a worse record.
Carlos Boozer’s Time With Jazz
Though plagued by injuries during his six seasons in Utah, Boozer was productive when he was on the floor, averaging 19.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.0 steals in 354 appearances with the team.
The forward’s best season in Utah came in 2008 when he was named to the All-NBA Third Team, appearing in 81 of a possible 82 games, and averaging 21.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.

The Jazz qualified for the playoffs in Boozer’s final four seasons in Utah, including a run to the Western Conference Playoffs in 2007.
The Duke alum was voted as the ninth-greatest Jazz player of all time in the KSL Sports Jazz 50 Countdown.
