Best Quotes, Trash Talk From Donovan Mitchell’s NBA 2K Tournament Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell was eliminated in the first round of the NBA 2K Players Tournament but it wasn’t short of great quotes and trash talk.

Mitchell was the No. 4 seed in the tournament but suffered an upset 74-71 loss to Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura.

Hachimura used the Los Angeles Lakers while Mitchell was the Brooklyn Nets in the first round clash.

When the game was over, Mitchell tweeted at Hachimura with a funny GIF of a guy getting upset after losing a game.

When Joe Harris was called for a foul, Mitchell wasn’t happy with the decision by one of his players.

The Jazz star was looking for someone on his Nets team to provide a spark off the bench. He was hoping to get something from Joe Harris or Spencer Dinwiddie. Mitchell and Harris both played for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup last summer.

Throughout the first half when Mitchell was struggling, he jokingly showed some frustration on one play when one of his players missed a shot.

“Did he miss that? Of course he did,” Mitchell said.

At the end of the first quarter, Hachimura had a legit water break when he had someone hand him a towel and a bottle of water.

A little trash talk from Mitchell when Hachimura was posting up JaVale McGee when LeBron James was cutting to the basket, finding him for an open layup. Mitchell asked Hachimura if he did that or if the game did that play.

Hachimura said that he did that. Mitchell responded, “no, the game did that.”

Mitchell’s reaction to taking the lead after he hit a big three-pointer with Kyrie Irving was priceless.

KSL Sports Jazz Insider Ben Anderson is all for the NBA 2K Tournament and wants Mitchell to play a full 82 game season on the video game.
