Real Salt Lake Lifts Mask Mandate At Rio Tinto Stadium Effective Immediately

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has removed its mask mandate at Rio Tinto Stadium effective immediately, the club announced.
Fans attending games at Rio Tinto Stadium will not have to wear masks if they do not want to. However, if you feel safest wearing a mask and would like to attend upcoming games you will still be able to do so and you will be able to sit in a mask-only section.
RSL Club Statement
“On Saturday, May 15, Real Salt Lake’s match at Rio Tinto Stadium against Nashville SC will be open to a 10,000-seat capacity with the ability to expand based upon the safety and comfort of our fans. For fans, masks are no longer required based on local and state health guidelines, but are still strongly recommended,” the club said in a statement.

“Special seating arrangements will be made for those who are more comfortable with mask requirements and social distancing, so they can attend the match and still feel safe and comfortable. Seating will remain physically distanced, and our staff, stadium security, and concession workers will still be required to wear masks, and players, coaches, and game officials will still be required to follow MLS safety guidelines.”

Mask Only Sections
RSL will have mask-only sections for fans who wish to still wear face coverings. While the other spectators who do not wish to wear masks will have their own sections to roam in.
That way, whether you are a mask wearer or not, everybody will hopefully feel safe while attending upcoming RSL home games.
If you have already bought tickets for upcoming RSL home games and would like to move your seats to another area, you may do so free of charge by calling RSL Ticketing at 844-REAL-TIX.
Furthermore, the capacity at the stadium remains at 10,000 fans per game. That number, however, is expected to increase over the coming weeks and months as long as the COVID-19 threat in Utah remains under control.
