Dominik Marczuk Sneaks Shot Past Goalie To Give RSL Early Lead

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Dominik Marczuk was able to clean up and give Real Salt Lake a 1-0 lead after Nashville goalkeeper saved a long-range attempt from Diogo Gonçalves in the 12th minute.

The goal was Marczuk’s first of the season and second as a member of RSL.

Dominik Marczuk Gives RSL Early Lead On The Road

The goal came just minutes after he missed a relatively routine shot from the center of the box.

Instead of hanging his head, he stayed aggressive and was rewarded with a lead-taking goal.

With the lead, RSL settled into its offense on the road and played freely throughout the first half. They led in time of possession, shot attempts, shots on goal, and corner kicks through the first 30 minutes.

Nashville was finally able to break through in the 30th off the foot of Daniel Lovitz.

Real Salt Lake Looks To Keep Ball Rolling Against Nashville SC

RSL opened the month of April with a big 2-0 win over the reigning champion LA Galaxy at America First Field last weekend. The club now has the chance to open its first winning streak of the season as they face Nashville SC at GEODIS Park on Saturday.

Real, 3-0-4, and Nashville, 3-1-3, will match up for the first time in nearly three years. The clubs last saw each other in the 2022 MLS season, where they split the two-game season series. The mid-April match will be the only time RSL and Nashville play this season.

Real Salt Lake comes in off of a win while Nashville has lost two straight.
