Tony Finau Slides Down Leaderboard In Third Round
The Memorial Tournament was held at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, from May 29 to June 1.
Ironically, and unfortunately for Finau, his front and back nines were eerily similar.
In his first five holes, he settled for five bogeys on holes 1, 4, and 5. He made up some ground with a birdie just after on hole six.
On the back nine, he shot three bogeys on holes 10, 11, and 14. He followed that with a birdie on 15. All in all, he shot +4 for the day. That was tied for the fourth-worst score on moving day amongst all golfers who made the cut. Austin Eckroat shot a +9, Justin Rose and Akshay Bhatia shot +8, and a handful of golfers shot +5.
Despite posting an unimpressive round, Finau still garnered some attention at Muirfield Village. To combat recent putting problems, he took a one-handed swing. Literally.

Ironically, that putt was for his birdie on hole 15. Finau finished near dead last in the field for shots gained while putting. As the last few holes came around, he tried his hand at a new technique.
Scottie Scheffler, who shot -4 in the round, leads the field at -8 overall.
