Tony Finau Shoots -2, Looks To Make Sunday Run At PGA Championship

SALT LAKE CITY – Tony Finau climbed nine spots on day three of the 2025 PGA Championship, finishing in a five-way tie at five under.
The Salt Lake City native shot two under on Saturday, setting himself up for a run at the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday, May 18.

Scottie Scheffler is in command after three rounds. Scheffler’s -11 is three shots clear of second-place Alex Noren.
Finau Enters Sunday In Top 8
The PGA Championship is held at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 15 to 18, 2025.
A strong Friday showing set Finau up to challenge the leaderboard on Saturday. He did just that, shooting -2 through nine holes.
A bogey on 11 was salvaged when he birdied the par-four 14th.
Finau heads into Sunday tied with Keegan Bradley, Bryson DeChambeau, Matthieu Pavon, and Matt Fitzpatrick for eighth.
Finau will tee off at 10 a.m. MT. He will be in a group with DeChambeau on Sunday.

About Tony Finau
The Salt Lake City native has played professionally since 2007.
The PGA Championship was Finau’s 12th competition of 2025.
He started the 2025 PGA Tour season by tying for 15th at The Sentry on January 5. Following The Sentry, he missed the cut at The American Express and the Farmers Insurance Open later in the month.

Finau bounced back with a 13th and 5th place finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational, respectively. In March, he tied for 36th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, got cut at THE PLAYERS Championship, and tied for 32nd at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
He went through a bit of a slump in April, with two finishes outside of the top 30 and missing the cut at the Masters. He bounced back in May with a T15 finish at the Truist Championship.
Finau has nine professional victories, including six on the PGA Tour. Finau won four events from 2022-23.
