Tony Finau Falls On Fourth Day
The PGA Championship was held at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 15 to 18.
Heading into the fourth and final day, Finau was tied for eighth on the leaderboard. His final round got off to a rough start, though. With bogeys on the third and sixth holes, he quickly dropped out of the top 10.
Finau followed that with three straight birdies on 7, 8, and 9. With a score of -6, he jumped all the way up to tied for second. Unfortunately, Scottie Scheffler was on another level in the first three rounds and still led by five strokes.

Things, once again, went downhill for Finau on the back nine.
He settled for bogeys on holes 10 and 13, which all but killed his hopes for a major win. After a birdie on 14, he ended his round with a double bogey on 17 and a bogey on 18.
Looking at the stats, his short game was likely the biggest contributor to his late fall. He was nearly dead last in shots gained while putting.
