Utah State’s Jordan Love Will Be Third QB Taken In NFL Draft, Says ESPN Analyst

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – ESPN analyst Todd McShay says Utah State quarterback Jordan Love will be taken ahead of Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He’s so confident he’s willing to put money on the line.

The Bet

McShay went all-in on Love during a segment on SportsCenter Friday morning. While arguing Love’s value with fellow analyst Mel Kiper Jr., McShay put $5,000 on the line that Love will be selected ahead of Herbert.

The money will go to the Jimmy V Foundation, which funds cancer research around the world.

McShay In Love With Love

Before making the bet, McShay gushed over Love’s attributes as a potential NFL quarterback.

“I need a guy who is quick twitch, gets the ball out quickly,” said McShay. “He can change his arm angles, he can do all the little things. He’s the most underrated quarterback in this year’s class.”

McShay followed those comments with the statement, “He will be the third quarterback taken in this year’s class.”

The overwhelming consensus is LSU’s Joe Burrow and Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa will be the first two quarterbacks selected during April’s draft.

Love’s College Credentials

During the 2019 season, Love threw for 3,085 yards, 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He accomplished this after a record-breaking season in 2018 where he threw for 3,567 yards, 32 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
