SALT LAKE CITY – It was a busy day in the world of NFL Free Agency. Multiple locals reached agreements on new deals or moved on to their next team.

2025 Locals In The NFL Free Agency Update

New Team

Zach Wilson – BYU QB – Miami Dolphins

After spending a year as the third-string QB in Denver, Wilson is headed to Miami on a one-year, $6 million deal to play behind Tua Tagovailoa.

Former #Jets and #Broncos QB Zach Wilson is signing a 1-year deal with the #Dolphins, source said. Back in the AFC East.

Cody Barton – Utah LB – Tennessee Titans

Barton received the biggest payday of any local, signing a three-year, $21 million deal in Tennessee.

Khyiris Tonga – BYU DT – New England Patriots

Tonga is headed to Foxborough on a one-year, $2.7 million deal to aid the Patriots run defense.

Simi Fehoko – Brighton High WR – Arizona Cardinals

After his deal with the Chargers expired, the Cardinals scooped up Fehoko on a one-year deal.

New Deal, Same Team

Brady Christensen – BYU OL – Carolina Panthers

Carolina brought Christensen back on a one-year, $2.78 million deal.

Tim Patrick – Utah WR – Detroit Lions

Detroit resigned Patrick to a one-year deal worth up to $4 million.

Zayne Anderson – BYU S – Green Bay Packers

The Packers tendered Anderson last week, which means that the former Cougare will make $1.03 million if he makes the final roster in 2025.

Jaylen Warren – Eash High RB – Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers used a $5.3 million second-round RFA tender on Warren to keep him in Pittsburgh.

Bobby Wagner – Utah State LB – Washington Commanders

Wagner resigned with the Commanders last week on a one-year deal with up to $9.5 million.

Released Or Contract Expired

Andre James – Herriman High OL – Released

Las Vegas released James, one of the last remaining players from the Oakland days. He is receiving interest from Chicago among other teams.

Jamaal Williams – BYU RB – Released

New Orleans released Williams to free up $1.59 million in cap space.

Sione Takitaki – BYU LB – Released

New England released Takitaki to free up $2.865 million in cap. The Patriots promptly brought in another former BYU defensive player in Tonga.

Tim Patrick – Utah WR – Expired

Patrick’s one-year, $1.125 million contract with the Detroit Lions expired.

Julian Blackmon – Utah S – Expired

Blackmon’s one-year, $3.7 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts expired.

Michael Davis – BYU CB – Expired

Davis’ one-year, $3.2 million contract with the Washington Commanders expired.

Leki Fotu – Utah DT – Expired

Fotu’s one-year, $2.5 million contract with the New York Jets expired.

Patrick Scales – Utah State LS – Expired

Scales’ one-year, $1.377 contract with the Chicago Bears expired.

Nick Vigil – Utah State LB – Expired

Vigil’s one-year, $1.21 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys expired.

Jackson Barton – Utah OL – Expired

Barton’s one-year, $1.125 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals expired.

Tyler Huntley – Utah QB – Expired

Huntley’s one-year, $1.125 million contract with the Miami Dolphins expired.

Jay Tufele – Bingham High DT – Expired

Tufele’s four-year, $4.305 million contract with the Cincinnati Bengals expired.

Simi Fehoko – Brighton High WR – Expired

Fehoko’s one-year, $1.055 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers expired.

Britain Covey – Utah WR – Expired (RFA)

Covey’s one-year $985,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles expired. However, he is a restricted free agent which means that Philadelphia can offer him a qualifying offer and also match an offer from another team within five days.
