GREEN BAY, Wis. – Former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love led the Packers on a fourth-quarter comeback that fell just short in week 17.

After scoring 15 unanswered in the fourth, Green Bay barely lost by two, 27-25.

Jordan Love Leads Packers In Narrow Loss To Vikings

The first quarter was slow but Green Bay took the advantage. The first four drives of the game saw a Packers fumble, two punts, and a Vikings missed field goal.

At the end of the quarter, Brandon McManus split the uprights to make it 3-0 for the Packers.

From the start of the second to the end of the third, the Vikings outscored the Packers 27-7.

Green Bay’s only score came on a Josh Jacobs run midway through the third quarter. Minnesota quickly responded with a passing touchdown to take a 27-10 lead going into the fourth.

The comeback started as the Green Bay offense took the field with nine minutes left in the game.

An efficient nine-play, 67-yard drive ended in a Emanuel Wilson rushing touchdown. A two-point conversion attempt was successful and the Packers trailed 27-18.

The defense did its job and forced a quick three-and-out. The next Green Bay drive was even more impressive.

It took the same amount of plays and almost the same amount of yards but they did it almost 60 seconds faster.

Love found Malik Heath for six and just like that, the Packers only trailed by two.

Unfortunately, the Vikings were able to move the chains a few times and drain the clock to stop the Green Bay comeback in its tracks.

The Packers fell to 11-5 with the 27-25 loss to the Vikings in week 17.

About Jordan Love

Before his time in the league, the Bakersfield, California native played at USU from 2016-19. During his time with the Aggies, Love threw for 8,600 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions with a completion rate of 61 percent.

In 2020, the Packers traded up to select Love with the No. 26 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

During his rookie campaign, the former USU standout was inactive for each of Green Bay’s games.

Love saw limited action in his second and third seasons with the Packers and continued to serve as the backup to four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Following the 2022 season, the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets. The Rodgers trade paved the way for Love to be Green Bay’s QB1 in 2023.

In his first three seasons, Love threw for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 60.2 percent completion rate in 10 games played.

In 2023, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also ran for 247 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record in the regular season.

In two playoff games, the former USU signal-caller threw for 466 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.
