KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was at the T-Mobile Center on Thursday to cheer on his alma mater BYU Cougars in the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship.
The former BYU offensive lineman and graduate assistant brought some good luck to his Cougars, as they took down the No. 12 Iowa State Cyclones to advance to the semifinals.

The Big 12 Tournament has been held in Kansas City every year since 2010, other than in 2020 when all College Basketball tournaments were cancelled.
Since BYU joined the Big 12 in 2023, making it to the tournament has been an easy task for Reid.
He was in attendance last year and watched the Cougars beat UCF in the second round before losing to Texas Tech in the quarterfinals. As a top-four seed, the win today already puts BYU in the semifinals. It’ll be a Cougar square-off on Friday when BYU takes on Houston.
