Tony Finau Opts For Rest & Practice After Two Consecutive Missed Cuts With The Open Approaching

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau has opted to bypass this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic and will instead use the time to concentrate on practice in an attempt to find form just two weeks before The Open Championship.
Finau, 31, has struggled with form over the last handful of weeks. He has missed back-to-back cuts for the second time this season after failing to play on the weekend at the U.S. Open and the Travelers Championship.

His run of poor fun follows a stretch in which Finau found himself as the most in-form golfer in the world. Throughout the months of January and February Finau secured more FedEx Cup Standing points than any other golfer and was constantly contending for his second PGA Tour victory.
It appears that the run of form from earlier in the year has taken a toll on him.

Finau has not given any indication as to when his next start will be. However, one must assume that he will be in the field for The Open Championship that is scheduled to begin on July 15 at the Royal St. George’s Golf Club in England.
