SALT LAKE CITY – Tony Finau will not play another event in 2021 following a year that brought as much success as any in Finau’s career.

In the year 2021 Finau secured his second career PGA Tour victory when he won The Northern Trust in a playoff against Australian Cameron Smith. It concluded a five-year drought for Finau between his first and second PGA Tour victories.

Throughout the five years, Finau finished second in multiple tournaments with many pundits starting to question whether he would ever secure a second win.

The victory at The Northern Trust was a reward for hard work.

To begin the 2021 calendar year, Finau rattled off three consecutive top-five finishes and scored the most FedEx Cup points throughout the months of January & February.

Then, his year slowed down beginning with a missed cut at The Players Championship.

Finau refused to give up on hope as he pursued a long-awaited victory, and remarkably, the win finally came in August.

In the Majors, it was another terrific year for Finau who is quickly becoming synonymous with good results at the major tournaments. A T10 at The Masters, T8 at the PGA Championship, T15 at The Open Championship, and a missed cut at The U.S. Open concluded his Major tournament slate for 2021.

The year was capped off with an emphatic Ryder Cup performance in which Finau aided Team USA to a prolific 19-9 win over the Europeans.

The 2021 season for Finau was another step of progress in an attempt to become one of the world’s most dominant golfers. Currently, Finau is ranked 15th in the Official World Golf Rankings, but has shown the potential to become a frequent top 10 player.

As good as the 2021 season was for Finau, 2022 could be even more fruitful.

The next event for Finau will be in Hawaii when he competes in the Sentry Tournament of Champions beginning on January 6th.
