Melanie Green Contests Top Spot After Second Round At Copper Rock Championship

HURRICANE, Utah – Epson Tour rookie Melanie Green played near picture-perfect golf in the second round of the Copper Rock Championship, tying Hailee Cooper who shot a tournament record 63 on day one.
The second round of the tournament took place on Friday, May 16.
Melanie Green Rises Up Copper Rock Ranks On Day Two
Looking at the stats, Green went 14/14 on hitting fairways, 18/18 on greens in regulation, and shot an impressive eight-under-par.

She climbed five spots to tie Cooper for the top spot at -13. Cooper was no slouch in the second; she shot four under, and if it wasn’t for a double-bogey on hole 13, she likely would’ve retained the lead heading into day three.
Other top performers from the second round were Gina Kim (-7), Dottie Ardina (-6), and Riley Smyth (-6).
Those five, as well as Spain’s Carla Tejedo Mulet and Israel’s Laetitia Beck, will all have a shot to finish first in tomorrow’s final round.

The Copper Rock Championship is a tournament on the LPGA’s developmental tour. It has been played annually at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah, since 2021.
Copper Rock is a par 72 course with a yardage of 6,537.
Fiona Xu, Savannah Carlson, Dottie Ardina, and Bailey Tardy have previously won the Copper Rock Championship.
