SALT LAKE CITY – Weber State defensive tackle Matt Herron is the next player on the 2025 60 in 60 watchlist, joining WSU offensive lineman Gavin Ortega.
The former Olympus Titan is entering his redshirt junior season with the Wildcats.
“Really coming into his own,” Weber State head coach Mickey Mental began. “He had another great spring camp. Had a tremendous fall last year. (We’re) expecting really big things from him.”
Mental continued, praising Herron’s work ethic and impact on the game.
“He plays the game the right way. Very stout versus the run, very versatile, and does a great job getting to the quarterback on third down, creating pressures. (He) plays tremendously hard; going to have a fantastic year.”
Herron has played 23 games with the Wildcats. He has 46 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and three sacks.
