SALT LAKE CITY – Preseason All-Big 12 offensive lineman Caleb Lomu is on the fast track to being a first-round NFL draft selection whenever he decides to go pro. In the meantime, Lomu is quickly becoming one of the most decorated linemen in college football.
Already on the Outland Trophy Watchlist, Lomu figures to be a critical cog in the Utes’ offense.
“Caleb Lomu, playing the opposite side from Spencer Fano, ” Kyle Whittingham began. “We believe that we have the best set of tackles in the country.”
Whittingham went on to describe Lomu as everything a coach could want on his quarterback’s blindside.
“Terrific player, athletic. Just exactly what you look for in the left tackle.”
