Brutal Fourth Quarter Dooms Jazz Against Golden State

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz went cold in the fourth quarter and fell to the Golden State Warriors 112-107.

Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 29 points but was held scoreless in the fourth as the Jazz lost their tenth road game in their last 12 outings.

With the loss, the Jazz fell to 19-18 on the season.

First Quarter

Lauri Markkanen got off to a quick start canning 3-4 from the three-point line as the Jazz built a 15-10 lead.

The shorthanded Warriors struggled to match up with the Jazz shooters who knocked down 7-14 from three in the first quarter.

Donte DiVincenzo lead the Warriors with eight points while Markkanen scored 14 to lead the Jazz.

After one the Jazz led Golden State 37-27.

Second Quarter

Collin Sexton carried the offensive load for the Jazz in the second quarter before being called for his second foul with four minutes left in the half.

After Sexton went out, the Jazz offense went cold as the Warriors tied the game at 54 with 1:39 left in the second quarter.

However, the Jazz closed the half on a 5-0 lead fueled by Markkanen’s 23 points.

At the break the Jazz Golden State 59-54.

Third Quarter

After a clunky second quarter, the Jazz found their rhythm in the third quarter getting up and down the floor and attacking the Warriors defense.

Mike Conley recorded five quick assists in the third while Jordan Clarkson scored nine points as the Jazz rebuild their double-digit lead.

Through three Markkanen had 29 points while Jordan Poole led the Warriors with 20.

The Jazz led the Warriors 94-88 heading into the fourth quarter.

Fourth Quarter

The Warriors opened the fourth on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 94 after back-to-back threes.

The Jazz went cold in the fourth quarter, led by Markkanen who missed all six of his field goal attempts, while Clarkson and Kelly Olynyk combined to shoot 1-4 from the free-throw line in the final minute of the game.

Golden State outscored the Jazz 24-13 in the quarter as they held the Jazz to just 4-25 shooting.

The Jazz dropped their 10th road game in their last 12 outings with a 112-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
