SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz opted to stand pat during Thursday’s NBA Draft, but have been busy adding names to the team’s summer league rosters since the final pick was announced.

The Salt Lake City Summer League begins July 5 and the Jazz need to build a full roster before the three-day event begins. From there, the Jazz will travel to Nevada to get a closer look at NBA hopefuls at the Vegas Summer League from July 7-17.

With a busy July right around the corner, here are the names the Jazz have added to the summer league rosters already.

Johnny Juzang: UCLA Wing – Two-Way Contract

The Jazz’s first move after the draft was to sign UCLA wing Johnny Juzang to a two-way contract late Thursday night.

Juzang’s two-way contract gives him a priority spot on the team’s summer league roster as there’s a significant chance he gets an opportunity to play with the Jazz primary roster during the 2022-23 season.

The former Bruins star would have likely been a first-round pick after his stellar performance in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, but hurt his stock during his junior season at UCLA.

Kofi Cockburn: Illinois Center – Summer League Invite

Kofi Cockburn was one of the most productive players in college basketball last season averaging more than 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Illini.

Cockburn is a throwback big man with a bruising seven-foot, 285 frame which he uses to bully smaller opponents near the rim.

The Illinois center worked out for the Jazz during the predraft process and was quick to sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the team soon after the draft.

Jordan Usher: Georgia Tech Wing – Summer League Invite

Jordan Usher had a memorable media session after working out for the Jazz showing off his competitive spirit in his fight to make the roster.

The Jazz run potential draftees through a drill during their workouts where guards are required to make six full-court six layups in 32 seconds while big men get 34 seconds.

Standing 6-foot-7, Usher was given 34 seconds to complete the drill but told Jazz officials he wanted to be timed as a guard.

Usher averaged 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds as a fifth-year senior at Georgia Tech.

Darryl Morsell: Marquette Guard – Summer League Invite

Darryl Morsell also participated in a predraft workout for the Jazz after a strong senior season at Marquette.

Morsell was named the Big 10 Defensive Player of the year in 2021 before transferring to play for the Golden Eagles as a fifth-year senior.

The guard has good size at 6-foot-5 and shot a career-best 34 percent from the three-point line during his final season of college basketball.

Jeenathan Williams: Buffalo Wing – Summer Leauge Invite

Like Juzang, Cockburn, Usher, and Morsell, Jeenathan Williams also took part in the Jazz predraft workouts before signing with the team shortly after the conclusion of the draft.

Williams has an incredibly productive senior season at Buffalo where he averaged 19.1 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting an impressive 49 percent from the floor and 45 percent from the three-point line.

Yoeli Childs: BYU Forward – Summer League Invite

Childs is the first player to join the Jazz summer league roster who wasn’t in college last season.

The BYU grad was with the Jazz G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars last year where he averaged 15.5 points and 10.2 rebounds.

The news of his signing came on the heels of the announcement that Childs was signing with Hamburg Towers in Germany. Hamburg announced that Childs will play with the Jazz summer league team before going overseas.

DJ Funderburk: NC State Forward – Summer League Invite

D.J. Funderburk rejoins the Jazz after playing for the team in both the Salt Lake City Summer League and the Vegas Summer League last season.

Funderburk averaged 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds between the two leagues in six appearances last summer.

The forward also participated in the Jazz’s veteran mini-camp they held during the summer ahead of the draft.

Funderburk has played in Russia and France since leaving college.

Isaiah Miller – Iowa Guard – Summer League Invite

Isaiah Miller will join the Jazz in the Salt Lake City Summer League according to reports.

Miller was a part of the Jazz free agent mini-camp in early June after spending last season playing professionally for the Iowa Wolves of the G League.

The guard attended UNC Greensboro for college and was a part of the Minnesota Timberwolves Summer League last season

Borisa Simanic: Serbian Forward – Summer League Invite

Borisa Simanic will reportedly suit up for the Jazz during the upcoming summer league.

Simanic, 24, competed in the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit and has competed on Serbian U-18 teams.

The forward played for the Serbian powerhouse Mega Basket since 2021

Bruno Caboclo: Forward Brazil – Summer League Invite

Another member of the Jazz offseason veteran mini-camp, Bruno Caboclo is rumored to be joining the team’s summer league roster.

Caboclo originally turned heads when he was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 20th pick of the 2014 NBA draft.

The Brazillian big man has appeared in 105 games over seven seasons averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds, and last played for the Houston Rockets in 2021.
