SALT LAKE CITY – Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green showed some frustration about getting compared to Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert during the NBA All-Star Game.

The 2022 NBA All-Star Game took place at Rocket Mortage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday, February 20.

Green was unable to play in the game because of an injury, participated in the contest on TBS’ broadcast. The Warriors’ forward recently joined TNT/TBS as an analyst on a multi-year deal.

During the second quarter, Kenny Smith compared Green and Gobert as players and defensive standouts.

“You keep mentioning me in the same sentence with him. We’re not alike,” Green responded with annoyance. “We ain’t nothing alike.”

Sunday’s discussion wasn’t the first incident involving Green and Gobert.

Earlier in February, the Warriors star revived a three-year-old jab towards Gobert after the duo was named NBA All-Stars for Sunday’s contest.

Green poked fun at Gobert during the reveal of the 2022 NBA All-Star reserves on February 3.

Gobert was selected as an All-Star for the third consecutive season.

In 2019, the Jazzman posted a resume fitting of an All-Star. However, he was not selected for that season’s NBA All-Star Game. After his snub, Gobert spoke to the media and broke down in tears while discussing a conversation with his mother’s reaction.

Gobert’s emotional response to the media went viral on social media and received feedback from multiple NBA players, including Green.

“I guess I should cry too,” Green tweeted sarcastically about Gobert.

This year, Green decided to jab his fellow All-Star once again.

“Who have you seen taking this the hardest when they have not made it?” Kenny Smith asked the Warriors star.

“One thing I can assure you, if I didn’t make it this year I wasn’t gonna cry. 100 percent assure you that,” Green said. “It has to be Rudy. The man cried on national television when he didn’t make the All-Star team. Thank god he’s made the next three.”

“Leave that man alone,” Charles Barkley told Green.

“You can’t cry, Chuck,” Green laughed and replied. “I said it then. Imma say it now. I got killed on Twitter then. I’ll probably get killed today but you can’t cry. Come on man.”

Ironically, Green spoke about being “nearly in tears” following his first All-Star selection.

Despite Green’s comments, Gobert is a three-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition to being a three-time NBA champion, Green is a four-time All-Star and one-time Defensive Player of Year.

This season, Gobert is averaging 15.7 points per game on 71.7 percent shooting. He leads the NBA in rebounding with 14.8 boards per contest. Gobert adds 1.2 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 0.8 steals a game.

Green is averaging 7.9 rebounds, 7.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game. He hasn’t played since January 9.

The NBA All-Star Game is televised on TNT and TBS.
