SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Gabrielle Union didn’t skip her chance to tease husband Dwyane Wade about his recent purchase of a minority share of the Utah Jazz.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Union and Wade discussed the Jazz, and how the soon-to-be Hall of Famer plans to spend his time in Utah with his family.

As it turns out, just because Wade is a minority owner in the Jazz, that didn’t mean it was a package deal with Union.

“That makes you part owner of the Utah Jazz also, yes?” Kimmel asked the actress, model, and author.

“No Jimmy there are these things called prenups,” Union told Kimmel, implying the famous couple doesn’t share all of their assets. “I need to re-up my prenup and get a little piece of the Jazz.”

Though Union may not have ownership of the Jazz, she does apparently have the final say in the family’s living arrangements.

Kimmel asked if Wade and Union would be moving their family to Salt Lake City to be closer to the team, to which the new Jazz owner deferred to his wife.

“We won’t be moving,” Wade informed Kimmel. “I got very strict directions Jimmy that once I retired I have to live wherever my wife tells us we have to live. So LA is where we want to live.”

However, in the video shared on Twitter by Jazz majority owner Ryan Smith, the couple didn’t rule out buying a place in Utah.

“We will definitely have a little place, probably in Park City at some point,” Wade confirmed. “I’m not going to ski, I’ll be inside at the lounge chilling, drinking some Wade Wine, and waiting for her to get off the ice.”

Wade calling the snow “ice” makes further sense upon Union’s description of her husband’s experience on the ski slopes.

“He was terrible at skiing, Jimmy,” Union said. “It was like Shrek on skis. It was a sight.”

Wade bought a share of the Jazz in April after retiring from his 16 year NBA career in 2019.
