Jazz Acquire Matt Thomas From Raptors

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz have acquired Matt Thomas from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for a second-round pick.
Thomas, a known sharpshooter out of Iowa State is in his second season in the NBA after spending two seasons playing professionally in Spain.

According to multiple reports, the Jazz will send the Raptors a 2021 second-round pick by way of the Golden State Warriors.
Thomas has career averages of 4.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists, but shoots a blistering 45.7 percent from the three-point line in 67 career games.
The guard shot 40 percent from deep during this four-year career at Iowa State, three of which he shared the floor with current Jazzman Georges Niang.

The Jazz already have perhaps the deepest guard rotation in the NBA with two All-Stars in Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley. Reserve Jordan Clarkson is the frontrunner for the NBA’s Sixt Man of the Year Award, while Joe Ingles is one of the league’s most reliable veteran reserves.
For now, Thomas will likely join second-year guard Miye Oni deep in the Jazz rotation as a three-point shooting threat and emergency depth.
The guard has one non-guaranteed year left on his contract after this season. The move brings the Jazz roster to the league maximum of 15 players.
The NBA trade deadline concludes today at 3 pm ET.
