SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell’s efficient performance and strong defense helped the Utah Jazz blowout a Brooklyn Nets team that was missing its three best players.

The Jazz hosted the Nets at Vivint Arena on Wednesday, March 24.

Brooklyn entered the game without its top players in Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden.

Utah took advantage and won the game wire-to-wire, 118-88.

Mitchell got the Jazz started with a deep three-pointer only 1:02 into the game.

Less than five minutes into the contest, Nets head coach Steve Nash called timeout with his team down 16-4.

The Jazz went on to take a 21-point lead into the second quarter.

At halftime, Utah led 63-38.

The second half was on repeat as the Jazz cruised to the 30-point victory.

Jazz Stars

The Jazz finished the game shooting 44.4 percent overall and 23-55 for 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Donovan Mitchell

Mitchell led Utah with a game-high 27 points on 11-18 shooting.

He was 5-8 from distance.

Mitchell added six rebounds, seven assists, and one steal.

He and Royce O’Neale posted team-high ratings of plus-38.

Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic came along for the ride and dropped 18 points each.

Rudy Gobert added eight points, 11 boards, and three blocks.

Brooklyn Nets

The Jazz held the Nets’ limited roster to 35.4 percent shooting from the field, including 20.0 percent from downtown.

Brooklyn was led by Alize Johnson’s 23 points off the bench.

Up Next

With the win, the Jazz improved their NBA-best record to 31-11 on the season. The Jazz are also 17-2 at home.

Utah’s next game is the first of back-to-back home contests against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Jazz will play the Grizzlies in three of their next four games.

The first matchup will take place on Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.
