Donovan Mitchell’s Big Block Saves A Bucket Before The Half

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It was an ugly half for the Utah Jazz against the Los Angeles Clippers, but a big block from Donovan Mitchell late in the first half saved it from getting any uglier.
The Jazz were trailing the Clippers 51-46 in the second quarter when Terance Mann attacked the basket with a chance to extend LA’s lead.
Instead, Mitchell ran the floor and came flying in for a bucket-saving block to keep the Jazz within striking distance.

Mitchell struggled through much of the first half against the Clippers feisty guard line, but found his groove late to lead the Jazz with 12 points at the break.
The guard started the game shooting just 2-10 from the floor, but connected on 3-4 to close the half late in the second quarter to keep the game close.
The Jazz as a team are struggling to shoot the ball. Overall the team has combined to connect on just 19-49 shots from the floor (39 percent) and 5-17 from three (29 percent).
The team will need more big plays from Mitchell throughout the game if they hope to win their ninth straight game and 20th of their last 21.
