Rudy Gobert Stuffs MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo With Massive Block

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert said “not today” and had a massive block on a dunk attempt from MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Gobert’s swat came late in the second quarter of Utah’s game against the Bucks on Friday, November 8.
The Jazz center’s right hand met the basketball at the apex of Antetokounmpo’s dunk attempt and sent the 2018-19 MVP to the floor near the baseline.

Gobert grabbed the basketball for a rebound and sent the ball ahead to Donovan Mitchell who had a spectacular dunk that would’ve shut down Vivint Smart Home Arena, only to have the two-point throwdown waived off by a questionable traveling call.

According to the radio voice of the Jazz, David Locke called it the best block of Gobert’s seven-year career.

Gobert had 5 points, 10 rebounds, and the block in 18 first half minutes.
The Jazz held a 55-35 lead over Milwaukee at halftime.
Utah held Antetokounmpo to 2 points and 0-7 on field goals in the first 24 minutes of the game. It was the MVP’s worst scoring half since April 2017.
Jazz guard Mike Conley had an impressive first half with 19 points on 7-8 shooting including 5-6 from three-point range.
Bojan Bogdanovic added 10 points to the Jazz’s total. Donovan Mitchell had 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.
