Former Red Rock Kari Lee Nominated For NCAA Woman Of The Year

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Red Rocks gymnast Kari Lee has been nominated for a major award by the NCAA.
It was announced that the former Ute gymnast had been nominated by the organization for its 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award.
Lee is up for the award with 584 other female college athletes. Among the nominees, the conference will select two from the pool to advance to the top 30.

Earlier this week, Lee was given the Tom Hansen Conference Medal by the Pac-12 Conference, along with former Utah linebacker Chase Hansen, for outstanding performance, scholarship, athletics and leadership.
Lee recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was noted for her involvement in the community. She frequently visited and taught physical education classes to local elementary schools and put on several charitable fundraisers.
Kari Lee, a three-time All-American with @UtahGymnastics, returned to the Red Rocks’ all-around lineup after Achilles surgery as a sophomore.
Lee is also a four-time #Pac12Gym all-academic honoree.

In the gym, Lee was a major contributor on Red Rocks teams that qualified for the NCAA Championships all five years of her time at Utah. She racked up 20 event titles in her career.
