Jazz Shoot Team Record 48 3-Point Attempts Against Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Utah Jazz’s mantra in the game against the Memphis Grizzlies was clear: shoot the ball from deep and do it a lot.

Shooting the 3-pointer more and more has become a common strategy for the some of the NBA’s best teams. However, against the Grizzlies, it didn’t pay off with a win as Memphis rolled to its third victory of the season over the Jazz in a 114-104 decision.

The squad set a Jazz team record for 3-pointers attempted in any half by chucking up 27 tries in the first half against the Grizzlies. They managed to convert on 11 attempts, good for 41 percent in the half.

They continued to try to make it splash from deep all the way to the buzzer, setting a new franchise record for 3-point attempts in a game with 48. Of those attempts, the Jazz made 18 triples which came out to 37.5, a little above the NBA average, which is around 35 percent.

Donovan Mitchell had a good game from the 3-point line. He made 5-of-9 attempts on his way to scoring a game high 38 points.

Joe Ingles, Kyle Korver and Jae Crowder all had three 3-pointers made in the loss.

Earlier in the season, the Jazz set a new team-record with 20 3-pointers made against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 4.
