Possible NFL Landing Spots For Utah Utes RB Zack Moss

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -Former Utah Utes running back Zack Moss will have an impact in the NFL regardless of the team that picks him on draft day.

But, his impact could be bigger or smaller depending on the team that he goes to when his name is called between April 23 and 25.

Moss is coming off of a record-breaking career at Utah and is regarded as the best running back in the program’s history.

Here are some potential NFL landing spots for Moss.

Kansas City Chiefs

During the Super Bowl, Kansas City had to rely on Damien Williams to get most of their rushing yards. With Williams returning and former Utah State running back Darwin Thompson returning for his second NFL season, Moss would fit in perfectly with the defending champions.

The Chiefs could use a physical and tough running back that has breakaway speed.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This would be a tremendous fit for Moss. He would be back in his home state of Florida and would join a young running back room that would be working alongside the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady.

The Buccaneers’ system under head coach Bruce Arians is very running back friendly.

Arizona Cardinals

This would also be a great fit for Moss. The franchise recently traded David Johnson to the Houston Texans in exchange for Deandre Hopkins. With uncertainty as to who will be the starting running back in Arizona, Moss could fill that void.

Seeing Moss on the field with Hopkins and Kyler Murray would be pretty cool too.

Los Angeles Rams

Todd Gurley will not return to the Rams and they are in need of a young running back to fill a void that was left by a player who was once considered one of the best in the league. This team will likely add a running back that will join a group of young players that have something to prove.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers didn’t have Melvin Gordon for much of last season due to a contract holdout but the team still managed to be productive in the run game with the running backs that they had.

With the franchise hitting the reset button after letting Gordon and longtime quarterback Phillip Rivers walk, this team would be a prime opportunity for Moss to get some meaningful carries right away.

With the way that running backs are used in the NFL, it’s unlikely that Moss will be getting 30+ carries per game like he did at Utah with teams in the NFL using multiple backs in their systems.
