Nick Ford Tweets Frustration Over Being Unable To Play In Utah’s Game Against UCLA

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah offensive lineman Nick Ford expressed his frustration with being unable to play in Utah’s game against UCLA tomorrow.

According to his tweet, L.A. County doesn’t want Ford to play, even after he claims to have “20 plus negative tests” after being exposed to COVID-19.

Exposed to COVID19. 8 days of testing. 20 plus negative tests later. LA county still doesn’t want me playing. Disappointment and frustration are both understatements for the way I feel. When it’s finally my time to step back on the field… feel bad for whoever I’m going against.

The tweet comes a day before Utah’s scheduled game against UCLA. The game is to be played in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl.

No official announcement has been made by the University of Utah about players being unable to play this weekend.

Utah’s season-opener against Arizona – scheduled for last week – was canceled due to an outbreak of COVID-19 on the team.

So far, no announcement of cancelation has been made regarding this week’s game against UCLA, but it appears they will be without some key members of the team.

Ford’s tweet also comes on the tails of the Pac-12 apologizing for a mistake in testing protocol related to the Stanford football team last week.

This week in the Pac-12 Arizona State’s game against Cal was canceled due an outbreak at ASU. Head coach Herm Edwards tested positive for the virus.
