Chris Curry Suffers Season-Ending Injury For Second Straight Year

SALT LAKE CITY – The hits keep coming for Utah football after head coach Kyle Whittingham announced running back Chris Curry suffered his second season-ending injury in a row.
Running back looked to be a position of strength for the Utes heading into 2023, but they have quickly been crippled with various injuries and ailments.
Curry is the second player in the group to be ruled out for the year behind Micah Bernard, and third overall for Utah football along with defensive end Logan Fano.

It was looking like Curry was close to getting back out on the field and being productive for the Utes after recovering from a gruesome season-ending injury the year before against San Diego State.

The process to get Curry back unfortunately took longer than expected and ended before it ever really began after he suffered a second injury yesterday that Whittingham said will have him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
“Chris Curry is out for the year,” Whittingham said after being asked about the overall health of the team which doesn’t sound like it’s improved as much as it needs to. “He sustained an injury yesterday. Any time we have a guy that is out for the season- we share that because obviously he’s not going to play anymore. Unfortunately, we took another hit at running back and Chris is out. It’s really been tough getting guys back. It seems like when they do come back, they almost immediately get something else. We’re just going to keep working through it.”
