BYU Football Lands Commitments From Two Texas Recruits

Jun 16, 2025, 2:56 PM

PROVO, Utah – BYU football had a productive weekend of official visits leading to Father’s Day.

The Cougars picked up two more commitments for their 2026 recruiting class. Both players who committed were part of the official visit weekend.

Those players who committed are Antonio Johnson, a defensive back from Fort Worth, Texas, and tight end Parker Ord of Frisco.

Antonio Johnson commits to BYU Football

“#AGTG 100% Committed to BYU Football. Want to say I’m truly blessed to say I have found my home in Provo, Utah. Thank you to my family and coached [sic] who believed in ME,” wrote Johnson on X.

Parker Ord commits to BYU

Ord also announced his commitment on X (formerly Twitter).

“Go Cougs! Thank you to all the coaches who believed in me. Let’s do this Cougar Nation!”

Breaking down the commitments

Johnson could play safety or cornerback. He’s an under-the-radar prospect, as BYU was the only power conference program to offer him. The Arlington Heights High School three-star reports offers from Texas State, Miami (OH), Sacramento State, and Austin Peay.

He’s got good size at 6-foot-3 1/2 and 180 pounds.

Ord is the nephew of former BYU wide receiver Andrew Ord. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound prospect from Panther Creek High School in Texas picked BYU over Big 12 rivals Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia.

Ord reported seven offers from Power Four programs.

Over the past two seasons at Panther Creek High, Ord has recorded 63 receptions for 868 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Adding Ord to BYU’s class gives the Cougars three tight end commitments for the 2026 cycle. He joins four-star Brock Harris from Pine View High School, who plans to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling at BYU, and Ty Goettsche out of Englewood, Colorado.

Goettsche plans to play a year at BYU before leaving to serve a Latter-day Saint mission.

BYU football is building up the 2026 recruiting class

BYU has 11 commitments for the class of 2026 and currently boasts the No. 50 recruiting class in the team recruiting rankings by 247Sports for the 2026 class.

Recruits who visited BYU this past weekend and remain uncommitted include Aisa Galeai from Timpview and Matthew Mason from Las Vegas.
