Utah Jazz Put Game vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Away With Two Big Runs

The Jazz started to separate themselves from the Cavaliers early in the second quarter by going on an 11-0 run that gave them a 13-point lead midway through the period.

Utah’s lead reached 20 points when they started the third quarter on an 8-1 run. Cleveland called a timeout with 9:36 left in the third and the Jazz were up 57-37. The one point came from a free throw by Larry Nance Jr.

That run extended to 23-11 and the Jazz had a 72-47 lead midway through the third quarter before the Cavaliers went on a mini 6-0 run.

Mitchell, Bogdanovic Dominate Third Quarter In Utah Jazz Win Over Cleveland Cavaliers

Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic had big performances in the third quarter. Mitchell had 17 points on 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc. Bogdanovic added 10 points and made both of his three-point attempts. The duo combined for 27 of Utah’s 38 third quarter points.

Utah made 11 of their 20 field goal tries and 8-for-10 from the perimeter in the third. Mike Conley made a tripel, as did Miye Oni and Georges Niang. Jordan Clarkson had a bucket in the quarter as well.

The Jazz will next be in action on Friday, January 15 when they host the Atlanta Hawks at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. MST and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
