SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Los Angeles Lakes star LeBron James said that it’s “very possible” that Utah Jazz guard is on a playoff run like Dwyane Wade had in 2006.

James commented on Mitchell’s postseason performance during Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers.

Mitchell and theΒ Jazz hosted the Clippers at Vivint Arena for Game 2 on Thursday, June 10.

During the contest, Mitchell was on fire and scored 27 points during the first half and helped the Jazz take a double-digit lead.

@CuffsTheLegend tweeted about the Jazz guard’s play and said, “Donovan Mitchell gonna have a playoff run like 2006 DWade?”

James responded to the social media post and said, “Very possible! Looking as much so far. That kid can flat out GO!!!!!! TOUGH!!!!”

In 2006, Wade led the Miami Heat to an NBA Championship in only his third season.

Wade helped the Heat defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 4-2.

For his performance, Wade was honored as NBA Finals MVP.

Now a part-owner of the Jazz, Wade has embraced the role of mentoring Mitchell.

The fourth-year Jazz star has made helped Utah reach the postseason in every season of his career, but has only advanced to the semifinal round once before this season.

Utah’s game against Los Angeles is broadcast on ESPN and 97.5 FM.
