SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah look to take a 2-1 lead in the season series over Houston as the Jazz finished up a two-game homestand that concludes with a matchup against the Rockets.

The Jazz host the Rockets for the third matchup of the 2019-20 season at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday, February 22.

Despite missing James Harden and Russell Westbrook in the first meeting of the season, the Rockets defeated the Jazz 126-117 in Salt Lake City on January 27. Houston guard Eric Gordon dropped a career-high 50 points on Utah that night.

In the second meeting between Utah and Houston, the Jazz escaped with a 114-113 victory in Clutch City behind a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Bojan Bogdanovic. Houston’s Gordon missed the game.

Saturday’s matchup is scheduled to feature all the primary players for both teams.

The Jazz are looking for their first home victory against the Rockets since a 107-91 game four victory in the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

Houston Rockets All-Stars

The Rockets enter the third meeting of the season led by MVP candidate and NBA All-Star James Harden. This season, Harden is averaging 35.2 points per game on 43.6 percent shooting. He ranks No. 1 in the league in scoring.

Fellow Houston all-star Russell Westbrook is recording 27.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.3 assists this season. Westbrook ranks No. 8 among NBA scorers.

Utah Jazz All-Stars

Utah is led by all-star Donovan Mitchell’s 24.3 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting. Mitchell is No. 14 in the NBA in scoring this season.

Fellow Jazz all-star Rudy Gobert is posting 15.6 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per contest this season.

The Jazz haven’t won two straight against the Rockets since the beginning of the 2018-19 season. Since then, the Jazz have lost seven of their last nine meetings with Houston.

Houston vs. Utah is scheduled to tip-off on Saturday, February 22 at 7 p.m. (MDT). Tickets for the game can be purchased at as low as $39. The game will broadcast NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
