ORLANDO, Fla. – The Denver Nuggets beat the Utah Jazz, 119-107 to take Game 6 which means the series will be going to a deciding Game 7.

Nuggets star Jamal Murray led the way with 50 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds on 17 of 24 from the field and 9 for 12 from downtown. He scored 50 points in Game 4 and 42 points in Game 5. Murray is the first player since Allen Iverson in 2001 to score 40 points in three consecutive playoff games. He also joined Donovan Mitchell, Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to have multiple 50-point games in a single playoff series.

For the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell dropped 44 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists on 14 of 25 shooting from the field and 9 for 13 from beyond the arc to lead the team. He set a career and playoff high as well as a franchise playoff record for three-pointers made.

Mike Conley added 11 points, 5 boards and 6 assists.

Jazz Supporting Cast Struggles

Despite the two big performances from Conley and Mitchell, Utah didn’t get much help from the others in the big moments. Rudy Gobert finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds but shot 3 of 8 from the floor and 5 for 11 at the free throw line. Joe Ingles and Royce O’Neale combined for 10 points on 2 of 8 shooting.

Jordan Clarkson shot the ball 14 times but made just 5 field goals, including one three-pointer in six tries. He finished with 11 points. Georges Niang had a good first half but recorded 10 points, missing two open three-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Nikola Jokic added 22 points for the Nuggets but that is expected. Jerami Grant’s performance was big for the Nuggets, posting 18 points and knocked down 4 of 7 from downtown.

Couldn’t Get Stop In Fourth Quarter

During the midway point of the fourth quarter, their was a three-minute stretch where the Nuggets went on a 16-6 run. Murray was a big part of that run.

Down the stretch, Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley both made three-pointers but Utah couldn’t stop Murray as he would answer time and time again.

Mitchell scored 17 points in the fourth but Murray dropped 21 points in the final period.

Up Next

The Nuggets tied the series at three games apiece after Utah was once up 3-1 after winning three straight games.

Game 7 will be on Tuesday. Tip-off will be at 6:30 p.m. MT will be broadcast on ABC.
