Bogdanovic’s 32 Points Help Jazz Escape Motor City With Win Over Pistons

DETROIT, Mich. – Bojan Bogdanovic scored 32 points to lift the Utah Jazz over the Detroit Pistons in the second game of a back-to-back.

Bogdanovic and the Jazz played against the Pistons at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday, March 7.

The Jazz forward shot 12-18 from the field including 3-6 from three-point range in carrying Utah to its fifth straight victory with a 111-105 win over Detroit.

After leading 55-39 at halftime, the Jazz allowed the Pistons to crawl back during the third quarter. Detroit outscored Utah by 10 points during the first 12 minutes after the break.

Pistons guard Bruce Brown hit a layup to tie the game at 79 apiece with 10:38 remaining in the game.

Bogdanovic helped Utah regain the lead and seal the win with 9 points during the final quarter. He added 5 rebounds, 2 assists during his 34 minutes on the court. He posted a plus-minus rating of +11.

Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell poured in 25 points to assist Bogdanovic in carrying the offensive burden. Mitchell finished the game shooting 8-14 on field goals and 7-8 from the foul line. He added 5 rebounds, and 1 assist in 34 minutes on the court.

Two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Gobert added 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks during his 35 minutes of game time.

Jazz guard Mike Conley scored 12 points in 30 minutes.

Utah sixth man Jordan Clarkson posted a team-high plus-minus rating of +15 during his 25 minutes on the floor. Clarkson scored 14 points on 6-12 field goals. He added 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 2 steals.

The Jazz ended the contest shooting 51.9 percent overall and 30.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Detroit shot 46.5 percent for the game including 30.0 percent on triples.

The Pistons were led by Christian Wood’s 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists.

With the win, the Jazz swept their Eastern Conference road trip 4-0 and improved to 41-22 on the season. Utah owns a 20-13 record away from Salt Lake City.

The Jazz return to Vivint Smart Home Arena to host the Toronto Raptors on Monday, March 9 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.

Toronto blasted Utah 130-110 in the first meeting of the season on December 1, 2019.
