CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Will Not Take Place As Scheduled, According To Reports

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake previously had sent four players to compete in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying for the upcoming 2020 Olympic summer games. Those players have been sent home following the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in the United States.

Justen Glad, Aaron Herrera, and David Ochoa were all expected to represent the United States U-23 roster coached by former RSL manager Jason Kreis while Douglas Martinez was expected to represent Honduras.
The tournament, which was scheduled to start on March 20th in Guadalajara, Mexico, will no longer take place. However, there has been no official word from CONCACAF.
Multiple sources indicate CONCACAF Olympic qualifying will not take place as scheduled. Players are being told they are going home. Awaiting official call from CONCACAF.

It is unclear as to whether the tournament will eventually take place at a later date or if the tournament will be suspended indefinitely.
