Two Utah State football alums gained the respect of their peers and were ranked as top 75 players in the NFL for the 2025 season.

Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner came in at No. 74, and Packers quarterback Jordan Love came in at No. 68 on the NFL Top 100 list.

It was Love’s second time in the top 100 and Wagner’s 10th time. In 2024, Love was ranked the 34th best player in the league, and Wagner was ranked 59th.

Love bounced back from an early-season injury to help lead Green Bay to the playoffs in debatably the toughest division in the NFL. Love finished the year with 3,389 passing yards and 25 touchdowns.

Despite an early postseason exit to the eventual champion Philadelphia Eagles, Love and the Packers felt good about what is being built in Green Bay.

Wagner had a different experience in 2024.

As the captain of the defense, Wagner led a young Commanders team to its first playoff win in 19 years and its first NFC Championship appearance in over three decades.

He recorded 132 total tackles (75 solo), two sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and four pass breakups. Despite being 35 years old, Wagner is still a premier linebacker in the NFL.

About Jordan Love & Bobby Wagner

Bobby Wagner

After a college career at Utah State, the Southern California native was selected by the Seahawks during the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Wagner helped Seattle win Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013.

After spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks, Wagner joined Seattle’s NFC West rival on March 31, 2022. The six-time All-Pro player was released by the Seahawks on March 8, 2022.

In 2022, the Rams finished in third place in the NFC West with a 5-12 record. Los Angeles failed to qualify for the NFL Playoffs after winning the Super Bowl last season. Wagner recorded 140 total tackles, 81 solo tackles, six sacks, two interceptions, and five pass breakups as a member of the Rams.

In 2023, the former USU standout received his ninth career AP All-Pro honor. Wagner has been named to the All-Pro first team six times and three times to the second team during his 13-year NFL career.

Jordan Love

Before his time in the league, the Bakersfield, California native played at USU from 2016-19. During his time with the Aggies, Love threw for 8,600 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions with a completion rate of 61 percent.

In 2020, the Packers traded up to select Love with the No. 26 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

During his rookie campaign, the former USU standout was inactive for each of Green Bay’s games.

Love saw limited action in his second and third seasons with the Packers and continued to serve as the backup to four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Following the 2022 season, the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets. The Rodgers trade paved the way for Love to be Green Bay’s QB1 in 2023.

In his first three seasons, Love threw for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 60.2 percent completion rate in 10 games played.

In 2023, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also ran for 247 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record in the regular season.

In two playoff games, the former USU signal-caller threw for 466 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.
