SALT LAKE CITY –Â Current Washington Commander and former Utah State Aggie linebacker Bobby Wagner is joining the Seattle Storm‘s ownership group. He is the first active NFL player to have equity in a WNBA franchise.
The Storm announced Wagner’s addition on Wednesday, July 23.
The move solidifies the ten-time Pro Bowler’s roots in the Seattle area after spending his first ten years with the Seahawks. Wagner helped pilot a Seahawks defense that reached consecutive Super Bowls in 2014 and 2015, earning a championship with a dominating 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.
