PORTLAND, Ore. – Former Weber State and current Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard dropped a new career-high in points and set a new Blazers franchise record in a win over the Golden State Warriors.

Lillard and the Blazers hosted the Warriors at the Moda Center on Monday, January 20.

The former Wildcats guard scored a career-high 61 points on 17-37 shooting to lead Portland to a 129-124 overtime victory over the Warriors. Lillard made 11 three-pointers in the win.

He is the only player in NBA history to score 60 or more points and make 10 or more three-pointers in a game.

Lillard is the sixth player in NBA history to record multiple games of 60 points or more.

61 points are the most scored by an NBA player on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Lillard added 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal in 45 minutes of play.

The Blazers guard broke his previous career-high and Portland franchise record of 60 points which he set on November 8, 2019, against the Brooklyn Nets.

Lillard entered the game as the No. 6 in scoring among NBA players with an average of 27.1 points per contest.

The Blazers point guard played for the Weber State Wildcats from 2008-2012. He was drafted by Portland with the 6th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Lillard left Ogden as a two-time Big Sky Conference MVP and three-time first-team All-Big Sky Conference selection. The former Weber State guard was second in the nation scoring average his senior season posting 24.5 points per game.

He scored 1,934 points during his time as a Wildcat. His jersey was retired by the university in 2017.
