Fredette explained that a torn adductor made him unsure of his next steps. But when the possibility of a front office role was presented to him, he ultimately decided to jump on the opportunity.
“It’s a lot of responsibility, but also a huge honor that they would think of me,” Fredette said. “As soon as I heard that, I started to really think about it. I felt like this was the right opportunity for me to pounce on.”
The former Cougars star appears to be excited to help build up the program from behind the scenes.
He spoke on his plans with the new role and what he hopes to accomplish long term.
“To be able to focus on trying to find the right players that can continue our excellence at USA Basketball for the 3×3 program just felt natural,” Fredette explained. “I want to put ourselves in the best possible position to win these tournaments by putting the right people in place. Whether it’s the players, the coaching staff, or the training staff. Doing all the things that we need to set our players up the best that they can to be able to succeed and not worry about anything else but playing.”
