SALT LAKE CITY – Utah defensive back Smith Snowden is coming off a career year as a sophomore and may see action on both sides of the ball in 2025.
Head coach Kyle Whittingham spoke on Snowden’s impact and teased that he may play on offense next season.
“I can’t believe Smith Snowden is already a junior,” Whittingham said. “He’s been playing for us since he got on campus. Terrific slot corner, can play outside, and he’s a terrific kick returner. You might see him play some offense this year.”
Snowden was ranked 43rd on our 60 in 60 list last season.

Last year, as a sophomore, Snowden burst onto the scene in the Big 12. He finished the season with 48 total tackles (34 solo), four tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and two interceptions.
