SALT LAKE CITY – BYU safety Talan Alfrey, a dynamic force both in the secondary and on special teams for the Cougars, is ready to take on his final year of college football.
Head coach Kalani Sitake spoke highly of Alfrey’s character, leadership, and instincts on the field.
“Talan Alfrey is a great safety for us and one of the best leaders on the team,” Sitake said. “He is willing to do whatever it takes. He’s one of our mentors for the young guys, and he’s all about BYU. He could be a great coach. He’s such a good player, and his instincts are amazing. That combined with his physical ability and speed, makes him a complete safety.”
Alfrey was not ranked on our 60 in 60 list last season.
See where he gets placed on this year’s list after the 2025 College Football season.
