SALT LAKE CITY – One of the brightest points of a successful offseason for BYU football was the addition of Tiger and Bear Bachmeier from Stanford.
Head coach Kalani Sitake spoke about what they’ve already brought to the program, both on and off the field.
“Bear and Tiger Bachmeier transferring in from Stanford,” Sitake began. “Bear has the ability to get in there and show off early. Tiger was one of the best receivers on that team. To have him be a veteran with us, he’s impressive. Both brothers are extremely intelligent and have great football IQ. They’re here on campus working hard and they’ll going to be a real pleasure to have in our program.”
As incoming student-athletes, neither of the Bachmeier brothers were ranked on our 60 in 60 list last season.
See where they could get placed on this year’s list after the 2025 College Football season.
About Tiger & Bear Bachmeier
Tiger, a third-year wide receiver, and Bear, a freshman quarterback, will add depth and familiarity to the Cougars’ offense in 2025.
In two years with the Cardinals, Tiger Bachmeier was a do-it-all receiver and return specialist. He totaled 46 catches for 476 yards and two touchdowns, added 28 rushing yards and a score on the ground, and returned 24 kicks and punts for 373 yards and another touchdown.
His younger brother, Bear, initially committed to Stanford before flipping to BYU. Tiger soon followed, setting up a family reunion in Provo.
Bear finished his high school career with 6,463 total yards, throwing for 56 touchdowns and rushing for 30 more. He was rated a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 11 quarterback in the nation.
