Report: Ravens Place Restricted Free Agent Tender On Tyler Huntley

SALT LAKE CITY – According to Jeff Zrebiec, Senior Staff Writer for The Athletic, the Baltimore Ravens will use the right-of-first-refusal tender on Pro Bowl QB Tyler Huntley.
Of Baltimore’s six restricted free agents, Huntley was seen as the most likely to receive the tender.
The Ravens will use the low RFA tender (Right of first refusal) on QB Tyler Huntley, per source. He was viewed as the most likely of the six Ravens RFAs to get tender.

The NFL free agency glossary defines the right-of-first-refusal tender as a “one-year contract worth $2.433 million. The team has the right to match any offer sheet signed with another team, but there is no draft compensation tied to this tender.”
The tender is similar to what the Ravens used on star QB Lamar Jackson. The difference is there are two first-round picks tied to the tender used on Jackson.

About Tyler Huntley
Before his in the NFL, Huntley was a standout player at the University of Utah. He played for the Utes from 2016-19. During his Utah career, the Florida native threw for 7,351 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions with a 67 percent completion rate.
Huntley signed with the Ravens after going undrafted following the 2020 NFL Draft.
Heβs spent the majority of his time in Baltimore as the backup to Jackson.

During his three seasons with the Ravens, Huntley has thrown for 1,509 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions. Heβs also run for 404 yards and three touchdowns.
